In short
- You can use the whole atlas without an account. Then we keep nothing about you.
- If you sign in, we keep your email, your name, your profile and your quiz progress, only to give you your progress on every device.
- No ads, no tracking cookies, and we never sell or share your data for marketing.
- You can download your data or delete your account yourself, from the Quiz panel, at any time.
What we stand for
Disseco exists so that anyone can learn the human body properly, for free. That shapes how we handle data:
- Free to learn. The atlas works fully without an account; signing in only keeps your progress.
- Nothing to sell. No adverts, no data brokers, no selling or renting what you do here.
- As little as possible. We collect only what a feature needs, and say what it is for.
- Honest sources. Every structure names where it comes from, and schematic models say they are schematic.
- Yours to take or delete. Download or delete your data whenever you like, without asking us.
Who we are
Disseco is a free anatomy atlas made by WalexLabs, a small independent project. WalexLabs isn't a registered company (yet), so the person behind it is responsible for your data (the "controller"). Questions, requests or worries: write to [email protected] and a real person will answer.
What we collect, and why
- Using the atlas without signing in: we keep nothing about you. Your choices (the landing page seen, a profile you keep on this device only) stay in your own browser's storage, and you can clear them any time.
- Visit counts: we count visits with Umami, which uses no cookies and does not identify you: pages viewed, the site that sent you, browser type, screen size and country. We use it to see what helps students.
- When you sign in with Google or Microsoft: your email address, your name and an account identifier from that provider. We use them only to run your account.
- Your profile: the name you show and the emblem you pick, and the days you studied.
- Your quiz progress: for each structure you were asked about, how often you answered and how often you were right, and when it comes back. This is what makes the quiz bring back what you are about to forget.
- Basic technical logs (such as IP addresses) that our hosting and database providers keep to run and protect the service. We don't use them to track you.
Only you can see your profile and progress. There is no public profile and no leaderboard.
Our reasons (the legal bit, in plain words)
- Your account, profile and progress: to give you the service you asked for when you signed in.
- Visit counts and security logs: a legitimate interest in keeping Disseco working, safe and useful, done in a way that does not identify you.
Who helps us run this
- Supabase stores accounts, profiles and progress on servers in Ireland (EU).
- Cloudflare hosts the website and delivers it from servers around the world, which may include countries outside the EU.
- Google and Microsoft sign you in when you choose them; their own privacy policies apply to that step. If you use a university or work Microsoft account, your institution's rules apply on their side too.
- Umami Cloud (EU) counts visits without cookies.
We don't sell your data and we don't use advertising tools.
How long we keep it
Your account, profile and progress stay until you delete your account; deleting it removes all three at once. Visit counts are anonymous totals. Data kept on this device only stays until you clear it.
Your rights
You can ask to see your data, correct it, delete it, limit or object to how we use it, or take a copy. In the Quiz panel you can Download my data and Delete my account yourself, straight away. For anything else, write to us and we will answer within a month.
Children
Disseco is made for students. If you are under 14, ask a parent or guardian before you sign in.
If you're not happy
Tell us first, we'd love the chance to fix it. You can also complain to Italy's data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (garanteprivacy.it), or to the authority in the country where you live.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so in the atlas before it applies. The date at the top shows the latest version.
